Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)

Also known as chassis number, VIN, VIN number.

The VIN is a 17-character code uniquely identifying every car produced worldwide since 1981. The first three digits encode country of manufacture, the next six the make/model/body-style, and the last eight a unique production serial. UAE car shoppers should always cross-check the VIN on the dashboard, door jamb, and mulkiya before purchase.
